Boat Diver

Divers on a small boat

Divers getting ready to enter the water from a small boat

You and the rest of the group start to assemble at the gangway leading onto the boat.  This is going to be a great week.  You have been planning this vacation for months and finally it is here.  You are in the warm tropics and the rest of your land friends are in the cold winter of Chicago.  The boat captain starts his brief about where you will stow your gear.  How you will enter and exit the water and of course, where the head is.  Now you are going through your mind, what the heck is all that again….

Let’s face it, there are two ways to get to the dive site; Shore or boat.  Mostly we are going to get there by boat.  The Boat Diver Specialty course is designed to have you become familiar with those nautical terms that we don’t use here on land.  We will also go through different techniques of entry and exiting the water depending on the type and style of boat you are on.

You want to take the course, all you need to be is 10 years of age or older, hold an Open Water or Junior Open Water Certification and desire to have fun.  This specialty has two dives along with knowledge development.  It is a great way to start your proficiency of diving.

While boat diver does not focus on diving, it does give you the means to get to almost any dive site.  So you might be in those warm tropics going to check out all the cool fish and beautiful coral reefs.  Or you can be in the Great Lakes, getting ready to check out the wrecks below.  You most likely are going to get to a majority of them by boat.

Course cost is $125.00

Included in this cost is course materials, course knowledge and required dives.
